The Youth View Awards (YVA’s) have grown to become one of Jamaica's most prestigious award shows.  The doors of the Nation Indoor Sports Centre opened to welcome every citizen enticed by Jamaica's talent residing in the entertainment industry. On February 18, the night was given ecstatic life with gorgeous celebrities on and off the red carpet before the fun even began at what was the awards’ Tenth-Anniversary Edition. As patience would have it 8:30 pm finally came and it was time for the YVA's to begin. Opening the award show was the YVA's dance group- starting from the back of the audience. The dancers lit up the crowd with energy as they danced their way to the center stage where the hosts of the night ZJ Bambino and former Miss Jamaica Universe Yendi Phillips would open the award ceremony. The Youth View Awards local award show celebrating and honoring Jamaican media personalities, musical artists, producers, sound systems, fashion icons and dance groups who in the past year/ years contributed to the rich authentic Jamaican culture, celebrated their tenth anniversary.

The show prolonged for an energetic eight hours, this was so thanks to soul touching gospel performances from artists Kevin Downswell and Chozen one, (because what is a Jamaican event without the gospel) to dancehall numbers from Shenseea who nobbed four awards- including favorite music collaboration from collaborating with VybzKartel andLoodi.  Also in the musical line-up were Romain Virgo, Freddie McGregor and D Major. The children of the     King of Dancehall Beenie Man, themselves did not miss out on the action as to they did a tribute performance lip syncing their father's greatest hits as tribute and surprise to this year's recipient of the Youth ViewIcon Award. The show ended on the same energetic note as the youth view awards dance group this time led by Yendi Phillips delivered electrifying dance numbers to hit songs such as Beyonce'sformation and VybzKartel's bicycle ride. The award shows tenth anniversary was indeed a memorable one as to next years the show will be renamed to Your view awards to reach a wider demographic as to now the young and old alike are in full support of the growing award show.
